About the Nihongo Center
Nihongo Center is a Japanese language school in Kyoto, conveniently located near the vibrant intersection of Shijo Kawaramachi, that has been educating students for over 30 years. Our school boasts an experienced staff of talented teachers who utilize a unique teaching methodology with an established reputation for success. Nihongo Center classes are highly diverse, with large numbers of students from Europe and America, representing countries and cultures throughout the world. With a curriculum that places particular importance on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, we take great pride in the high percentage of students who, regardless of level, pass each year. Our outstanding education system employs presentations and other projects designed specifically to develop each individual student’s Japanese communication abilities. Nihongo Center’s proven educational success can be seen every year in the high number of students who continue their studies at Japan’s universities and graduate schools.
Nihongo Center is a Japanese language school approved by the Association for the promotion of Japanese Education, supported by the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Justice.
School facilities
The Nihongo Center occupies the 1st to 6th floors of the Sakura Building located in the Shijo Kawaramachi neighborhood of central Kyoto. The reception area and teacher’s room are located on the 1st floor, and the 2nd floor contains one classroom and a break room. Two classrooms and a break room are located on each floor from the 4th to 6th floors.
