How to Apply: Intensive Course (Long-Term Course)

[ 2 ] Prepare required documentation

  1. Application for Admission
  2. Curriculum Vitae
  3. Letter of guarantee
  4. Pledge
  5. Application for Certificate of Eligibility
  6. A copy of diploma from the last educational institution
  7. A copy of your passport (if you already have one)
  8. 4 copies of your photograph (4 by 3 cm)

*Depending on the student’s nationality, additional documentation other than the above list may be required.

[ 3 ] Send documentation and transfer application fee

Please send the documentation listed above by postal mail or as an email attachment (support@nihongo-center.com). Please pay the application fee of 31,500 yen by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card.


[Application Deadline]

April students: November 20th

October students: May 20th

 

If the submitted documentation is complete and correct, the Nihongo Center will issue an admissions certificate and will apply for authorization of registration eligibility at the Immigration Bureau.

[ 4 ] Issuance of residence eligibility certificate

A residence eligibility certificate will be issued by the Immigration Bureau. Afterwards, the Nihongo Center will send a copy of the certificate by email or FAX.

October students: Late August

 

*Applications cannot be returned in the event that the residence eligibility certificate is not issued for some reason.

[ 5 ] Transfer of school fees

Please pay school fees (admission fees, course fees, materials fees) by bank transfer. After the transfer of fees has been confirmed, the Nihongo Center will send the original residence eligibility certificate by EMS.

 

*A billing statement for school fees will be sent by email.

[ 6 ] Acquire study visa

Please acquire a study visa by submitting the original residence eligibility certificate and your passport to the Japanese Embassy (or Japanese Consulate).

 

*Please inform the Nihongo Center once you have finalized your plans for traveling to Japan.

[ 7 ] Reserve accommodations

The Nihongo Center will reserve lodging for requesting applicants only.

[ 8 ] Arrival in Japan

Upon arriving in Japan, please complete visit the school and complete entrance procedures.

After procedures have been completed, a class structure test and personal interview will be held.

Countries with Japanese visa waiver

Currently, Japan has waived visa requirements in 61 countries and regions. Therefore, students from most countries can enroll in the regular course without the need for a visa.

However, a short-term visa must be obtained by students from countries without a Japanese visa waiver. In order to determine whether your country participates in the visa waiver program, please visit the homepage of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

How to Apply for a Short-Term Visa

If your country does not participate in the Japanese visa waiver program and a short-term visa is required, the Nihongo Center will send you the following documentation.

  1. Admissions certificate
  2. Letter of Reason for Invitation
  3. Letter of Guarantee
  4. Schedule of Arrival in Japan

Please submit the documentation listed above to the Japanese Embassy (or Japanese Consulate) and apply for a short-term visa.
